Fursuit Commission Terms of Service
By commissioning me, you are agreeing with these terms. This is a living document, and changes may be made at any time. You will be notified of any changes. Please read the entirety of the terms. Last update: 12/3/2023
Payment and payment plans
-
Cost of materials is always due before the commission can be started, regardless of payment plan. This varies from commission to commission, but is usually around 250 dollars. This amount is non- refundable. For ease of reading the cost of materials will be referred to as the deposit. See refunds section for more information.
-
All prices are in USD
-
Payment plans may be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on size of commission.
-
Payments must be fulfilled within 24 hours of the dates agreed upon unless a grace period of up to a week is discussed.
-
Cryptocurrency of any type is not accepted.
-
Paypal is currently the only accepted method of payment.
Refunds
-
If I choose to refund, terms will be discussed based on completion and what the commissioner wants to happen with completed work.
-
If the commissioner chooses to ask for a refund:
-
0% complete, materials not purchased - 100% refund
-
0% complete, materials purchased - refund of all costs other than material deposit
-
25% complete - 75% of costs other than deposit
-
50% complete - 50% of work cost other than deposit
-
75% complete - 25% of cost other than deposit
-
100% complete - no refund
-
-
Do not just chargeback your commission without discussing it with me. This will result in a blacklist and your commission progress being altered and turned into a premade.
Communication
-
I will try to respond to messages as quickly as I can.
-
Often I will send WIPs for approval, which you will have to confirm that everything is ok before work continues. Please respond to these as soon as possible!
-
If no messages are received on a commission for one month, the commission is considered abandoned and will be refunded based on terms described above.
-
Please do not be afraid to reach out at any time during the commission if you have any concerns.
Character and character reference
-
I cannot do gradients and overly complex markings (check with me to see if yours is possible)
-
Some designs may have to be simplified which would be discussed with the commissioner.
-
Not all colors exist in fur, so they may need to be altered. I will do my best to find colors as close to your character as possible. This will, again, be discussed. I do not custom dye fur.
-
The character ref sheet must show all markings and contain no shading.
-
THE REFERENCE MUST BE SAFE FOR WORK
Deadlines
-
I do not work on deadlines. If you tell me you want your suit by a certain time, I will do my best to get it to you by then, but I cannot guarantee.
Age requirement
-
You must be 18 or above to commission. I may ask to see identification.
Shipping
-
When the suit arrives, let me know as soon as possible, and let me know within 5 days of receiving any possible problems with sizing or other damages in need of repair.
-
Commissioner must pay for shipping expenses, which is a cost calculated at the end.
-
I currently only ship within the United States
-
The suit will not be shipped out until 100% of the payment is received.
-
When a suit is shipped out, it is then out of my hands. I cannot control what happens to it. Damages caused by shipping are not my fault.
-
You will be provided with a tracking number.
Work environment
-
I am one person, and do all of the sewing, carving, publishing, sourcing and gluing myself.
-
I have two cats who regularly spend time in my workroom, and I try to keep them away from materials, but to no avail. My door does not lock or close properly so they are often in contact with me or my supplies. If you have allergies to cats, I advise you to find another maker.
-
The suits come from a smoke free environment.
Modifications/warranty
-
For 3 months after you receive the suit, repairs are free, but the commissioner must pay shipping fees.
-
After 3 months, a fee will be discussed.
-
Fit issues because of incorrect measurements given by the commissioner will have a fee associated with fixing.
-
Have the suit properly cleaned and sanitized before sending it back.
What measurements are needed for the suit?
-
Head : around your head, and from top of the head to chin.
-
Paws: size around wrist, and span from splayed tip of pinkie to tip of thumb.
-
Tail: belt height to ground.
-
Feet paws: shoe size, or for some types of paws, new shoes, of whatever type is most comfortable (slipper, sneaker, slip ons). It will be an extra charge if you need me to buy the shoes.
-
Bodysuit: a RECENT duct tape dummy. Here is a tutorial on how I prefer it to be done. https://youtu.be/1mFz0WmpSmI
-
I will ask for specific measurements based on what type of suit you are getting.
Style of the suit
-
When requesting changes, there are certain things I will not be willing to change because it contributes to my style.
-
Round eyes
-
Certain uses of patterns
-
Major techniques
-
Other elements at my discretion
-
-
If there is something you need changed due to a disability or discomfort with a method please discuss it with me, I am happy to accommodate (ex. Need a different type of fabric, or allowance in the suit to fit a insulin monitor)
Timing
-
A partial suit takes 3-6 months once supplies arrive.
-
Full suits take around 6 months - a year once supplies arrive.
-
Timing may shift based on complexity and amount of the commission.
Rights to images
-
The commissioner retains the rights to their character.
-
Please credit me when posting photos of the work.
-
DO NOT claim my work as your own.
-
I retain the rights to post photos of the work and promote myself with it everywhere.
-
I do not consent to any images of my work being used in AI or similar training bases.
Warning
-
Fursuits are a work of art. They will NOT be perfect. I am human, and the suit will have imperfections, though I do my absolute best to provide you with the highest quality product that I can.
-
They are also costumes that get very very warm. They are difficult to breathe in. Your senses are all dulled in suit. This is to be expected with any fursuit. Know your personal limits in a suit and take steps to prevent injury. By commissioning a fursuit you accept these risks and remove responsibility for injury from the fursuit maker.
-
We reserve the right to cut contact and blacklist those who are showing aggressive, suspicious, scamming behavior or are generally being disrespectful towards the maker. If payments have been made they will be refunded and progress turned into a premade.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
